Bedfont Scientific has become a market leader in breath monitoring for medical applications. Its Smokerlyzer range of carbon monoxide monitors is used by health professionals throughout the world and is recognised as the market leader in smoking cessation and research. As well as breath monitoring, Bedfont has a strong background in the use of precision gases. It was a key OEM supplier of calibration gas mixtures, sold internationally to manufacturers of safety, environmental, emissions, and medical gas monitoring systems. In October 2004 this activity was sold to a major UK gas company, allowing more freedom to focus on the medical products within the business.

Cantium is an Energy Services Company: a business that installs and operates heating and generating plant within customers’ buildings. We make the capital investment and sell the electricity and the heat we produce to the occupier. Most importantly, we only use local renewable fuels, so the heat and power we supply is 100% green. This is a very low cost way to replace expensive oil or gas heating and, because CHP is so efficient, can really make a difference to reducing Greenhouse Gases.

Carbon8 Systems utilises an innovative, patented solution called Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT) that is a rapid, cost effective treatment suitable for soil and waste. ACT can be used in both on-site and off-site operations and can be integrated into existing industrial processes. ACT is a controlled accelerated version of the naturally occurring carbonation process, which results in an improvement in the chemical and physical properties of the treated materials. The technology can utilise waste CO2 emissions from local sources, capturing significant volumes of CO2. When carbonation is used in the recovery and recycling of waste, an end product with value is created.
